Affordable sports for All
Building public private partnerships to create affordable community sport programs promoting a healthier more productive community
Accessible Community Sports
Creating a pathway to Sports for Life: Physical Literacy>Intro to Sports>Community Sports>Competitive Sports>Rec. Sports
Advocate for Sports Infrastructure
Establish relationships with municipality and school boards to create safe space for sports while advocating for facility maintenance and development
WHY
A COUNCIL
THE NEED FOR SPORTS COUNCILS IN OUR COMMUNITIES ACROSS ONTARIO:
Provides a collective voice for local sports across the province in order to affect positive impact and change (Strength in numbers). Example building facilities, lobbying for infrastructure regionally, locally.
Sport,physical activity, physical literacy is critical to the health and wellness of society, children , youth and adults being active for life.
Being Active for life is the prescription for disease prevention, mental health and overall well being
Collaboration, building partnerships for events, fundraising, grants etc.
Sharing resources and facilities with other local groups and clubs
Greater visibility in the community by attending local partner events, fundraisers and promotions
